A figure of Ptah-Seker Osiris

A wooden figure of Ptah-Seker Osiris. Egyptian dating: 700 – 300 BC. Wood with remains of gesso. The god Ptah was the deity of the city of Memphis and had the function of a creator god. He is also associated with potters and craftsmen. Here he is depicted as a mummy with a tight hood over his head and a beard on his chin. Figure is mounted on a stand.
